What they said.. ….

“What An Amazing Way To Spend The Morning!”

We had an amazing trip our guide was friendly and knew what he was talking about about the history of the area. The best parts of the day was seeing the wild life. Hector Dolphins up close and personal swimming under the kayaks and playing around. The Penguin that was cleaning itself on the harbour while we watched. A great calm day in the water. A must do if you are heading to Akaroa.

“Just do it!”

What an enjoyable experience this trip was, we loved every minute of it. We had never been in a kayak before but thanks to our wonderful guides, Allie & Greville, we were soon happily paddling away in our sturdy double kayak with no worries at all! The colour of the sea at Akaroa harbour is a beautiful turquoise colour and the highlight of our trip was to have dolphins swimming right alongside the kayak enjoying our company. This was a memory we will always treasure and we even got free photos of ourselves emailed to us after the trip, not to mention the yummy cookie. Fantastic, uniquely NZ, fun adventure!

“It Was Amazing!!”

This was my first time kayaking. I’m from Japan, as not good at English, but my guide Brent explained me very well, and made me understand about safety procedures and kayaking techniques. My tour-mate was a Holland guy. I had a double kayak with him, and we went across the sea as a team!
The sea was calm and quiet as early morning, and lots of dolphins came and swam with us, made circle around us, jumped, and went through looking at us! It was amazing. I definitely recommend you to join this Akaroa guided kayak safari!

“Highlight of our Trip To NZ!”
We had a truly memorable experience on the water at Akaroa. The surrounding scenery is stunning, and on the day of our visit the weather was beautifully sunny, with clear blue skies. The fact that there was a fairly strong breeze just made the experience all the more exhilarating. Our guide Kevin was excellent, and gave us a very comprehensive pre-briefing introduction. Since we had very limited previous experience of kayaking this was especially helpful, and gave us a lot of extra confidence. Once out on the water kept a constant watchful eye on us novices, and continued to describe the history, geography and geology of the region, and the wildlife we encountered on our trip. I even had time for a swim. It was a really fantastic experience, topped off by a great post trip lunch, and the sight of dolphins as we left the harbour. And thanks to Kevin we have the photographs to prove it too!

“Best experience I’ve ever had. Go for it”
Our guide was amazing, and very encouraging when the water got a little rough. They were well prepared and made sure that we were adequately prepared before starting the journey. The scenery was beautiful and I would recommend it to anyone who asked.

“Go For It!”

As a complete novice I had very little idea what to expect from our 3/3.5 hr safari but it was absolutely brilliant!
Firstly, the website was so easy to follow, all the trip requirements, instructions and times are clearly laid out which made booking and planning so easy.
Secondly, the trip itself was made so enjoyable by our excellent guide, a great instructor and a real laugh! His easy manner and obvious experience put me at ease immediately and I felt completely safe out on the open water with him in charge. His local knowledge is superb and knowing what we were seeing on the trip really added to the experience. The trip itself was timed perfectly to challenge us but not so long as to become arduous, and I can’t begin to describe the joy of being out on the open water, first thing in the morning, with the breeze in your face and the sun your back! Magic! Thirdly, I loved the fact that the guides took numerous photos of the safari, meaning we didn’t have to worry about taking our own (non-waterproof/shockproof) cameras. They were brilliant pics and we simply downloaded them from the link he sent through – free!
We are now both totally hooked on sea kayaking and really have to thank the guides for a truly memorable kiwi experience.
If you’re thinking about booking, just do it! 🙂

“Dolphins!”
Good value activity for both people new to the water and confident paddlers. Lovely views of Akaroa harbour as you paddle out, and we were fortunate enough to see a dolphin on the way back. Friendly guides, lovely half day on the water.

“Everything I Hoped for And More!!”

Sea kayaking with Brent was without doubt the highlight of our trip to Akaroa. We felt safe and well cared for throughout our adventure and Brent made sure that we got the most out of our time on the water. He was extremely knowledgable about the bay and the surrounding area and had lots of funny anecdotes to amuse us with. Our Akaroa Sea Kayak Safari has ignited in us a love of kayaking which we have brought home to Scotland and hope to pursue here.
